On The Road....

Article Date: 07 February 2018

Out and about with Cuebox. An update of our recent work.

FEBRUARY 2018

A busy start to the year once again, so much so that only now we've had a chance to update the news feed!

A second series of Wales Live is in full swing already with a third series coming up almost immediately after it.

A new Six Nations programme with Gabby Logan and Gareth Thomas started at the end of January and continues until the middle of March, as does another series of Jonathan - also following the six nations story.

We've tried to 'Make Wales Happy' in a one-off special programme with Alex Jones and Jason Mohammad, and have done another 'The Hour' programme focusing on Class Divides in Wales.

We've done 2 shoots with the lovely people at eHealth, including one in Punjabi, Hindi and Polish - that was a very interesting prompting day!

Outside of Wales we've done commerciald for NHS, HSBC and Sloggi, the first of many ITN special reports and some award ceremonies!

Coming up we have more Six Nations, some Songs of Praise, BBC Young Musician of the Year, more awards, more ITN and much much more!

So far it's been a HAPPY NEW YEAR!

JANUARY - OCTOBER 2017

What a busy year! So much so that we're only now able to take 5 minutes to update the news feed!

What have we been up to so far this year then - well right from the get go the awards have been non-stop with a steady flow of awards leading us right through the year and will continue to do so until the very end!

We've been busy working with BBC Wales on many a project including Cardiff Singer of the World, Young Musician of the Year, and of course Brexit and the election coverage. We are currently in rehearsals for a new political series to be aired live on a weekly basis.

We continued to work on another series of Science of Stupid, as well as a long running contract with ITN Productions for their current affairs programmes with Natasha Kaplinsky. Kevin Bacon was one of our favourites this year, as we worked on one of the EE adverts currently playing out on network television.

At the Bafta Cymru awards at the beginning of October, as well as working on it, we were pleased to have been involved with 2 of the evenings winning programmes - Aberfan: The Green Hollow and Young Musician of the Year. Congratulations to the production teams on both of those programmes.

We've recently partnered with The Global Conference Network to help them bring many an industry awards night to fruition and will continue to do so in to the new year. We look forward to working with the guys there on future projects.

The year will continue with the awards ceremonies, some more news and current affairs programmes and also a week long shoot producing several motivational videos for the workplace.

We'll end the working year on 23rd of December at the Barbican this year, with Russell Watson in what promises to be a magical christmas concert.

JANUARY 2017

The Cuebox brand also reached Itay, Peru, Fuerteventura, Mauritius on it's travels this year.

And after all that we had a week of for christmas!

JULY - AUGUST 2016

Summer has arrived (in season if not in weather) and we have been out and about as usual on all sorts of different projects.

One of our faves was of course - Queen B! A Beyonce shoot at the Millennium Stadium minutes before the kick off of her concert. We were a little bit pleased with that one!

As well as that we've been working on a project for the anniversary of the Aberfan disaster - a tragic accident in South Wales where coal slurry slipped down a mountainside burying and killing 116 children and 28 adults. We were very proud to be involved with this production and look forward to the programme airing in October.

On a lighter note, the National Eisteddfod kicked off in Abergavenny on August 1st and we were there helping out with the opening concert featuring Only Men Aloud,  as well as 3 other concerts during the week.

We've also done several award ceremonies including Garden Industry awards at the Celtic Manor, the International Spirit Challenge, the HR excellence awards, the Shropshire Business awards, the TESSAS and the Professional Clothing awards.

Holidays await some of the team at the end of the month but the award season will continue in September!

MARCH - JUNE 2016

Wow we have been busy since our last update! And Wales has suddenly come to life in the autocue world! Hooray for us! Early March saw the category finals of the BBC Young Musician of the Year held at the Royal College of Music and Drama in Cardiff, which then culminated in the Grand Final at the Barbican Centre in London in April. We had an election road show for the Welsh Referendum followed by the live overnight result  programmes in both English and Welsh language. The BBC Ten Pieces concerts took place again in 3 different locations around south Wales - Cardiff, Newport and Merthyr Tydfil. We've also done a week of Crimewatch Roadshow with Rav Wilding which is live every morning from BBC Cardiff, a "C'mon Wales, Euro 2016 Singalong", a recording or two of The Wales Report, an artistic interpretation at the National Museum Cardiff gave us a bit of culture and we have an S4C overnight live programme coming up shortly for the EU Referendum results. We  were also very proud to be part of Breast Cancer "The Show" again this year at the Millennium Centre in Cardiff - a fashion show featuring survivors and battlers of breast cancer - a hugely humbling and amazing group of people. Our services have been used as a prop on an upcoming production filmed at Pinewood Cardiff and not forgetting the Tablet Prompter has also picked up popularity in Cardiff with 2 separate shoots taking place within a week of each other.

The rest of the country hasn't gone un-noticed either - a very popular sitcom returned for it's second run, and filming for that is still on-going in Manchester. The usual batch of award ceremonies have come and gone including the Taxation Awards, BT Sports awards, HR in Law awards, Target Jobs awards, TES FE awards, Womenspire awards (in Cardiff!) Football League awards and the Optician awards! We've had plenty of corporate shoots on the go as well so all in all a mighty fine couple of months!

JANUARY - FEBRUARY 2016

What a busy start to the year! A normally quiet January gave way to quite a few different projects.

We helped out on an Autism Awareness campaign for schools with Gethin Jones in Merthyr Tydfil, we did a start-up video for a new Wealth Club based in Bristol, recorded a Wales Report programme in Cardiff, a project for BBC Earth around the Blue Planet series again in Bristol as well as shoots in Caerphilly, Luton airport, Paignton and the Welsh Assembly amongst others.

The Personnel Today awards took place at the Grosvenor House Hotel, followed in February by the RAD awards, the Event Production Awards and the Drinks Retailing awards at the Dorchester - congratulatins to the winners of all 3 award ceremonies.

February so far has also seen some press junkets, a shoot with a "dragon", some financial results and most recently a large pharmaceutical company conference.

We're all set to Spring into March and the rest of the year!

DECEMBER 25 2015

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL OF OUR CLIENTS.

SEE YOU ALL IN 2016!

Our hours over christmas are as follows - closed from 24/12/15 until 04/01/16.

JULY - SEPTEMBER 2015

There's been 14 award ceremonies, plus the Bafta Cymru Awards, the BBC Leeds International Piano Competition, BBC Proms in the Park at Swansea's Singleton Park, several BBC National Orchestra of Wales concerts around the country, a toothpaste advert, 2 Max Boyce Rugby World Cup Warm ups, a few episodes of Science of Stupid, 3 Eistedddfod concerts, press junkets and many many corporate videos. Plus the new prompt it yourself Tablet Prompter has been out ond about on several of it's own shoots with great reviews coming back from clients on that.

Hmm maybe not such a quiet Summer as we thought!

March - June 2015

Phew what a busy busy few months its been!

We've done the BBC Young Dancer of the Year, BBC Folk Awards and BBC Cardiff Singer of the World. We've been to Frankfurt and Barcelona, covered the Election, 19 award ceremonies, a Sunday Service for the Church of Latter Day Saints, a Russell Watson conert at the Royal Albert Hall, a Crimewatch Roadshow, several Science of Stupid shoots, a Simply Health Roadshow plus all the usual corporate videos, webinars and seminars.

As well as all that we launched the Tablet prompter for hire. A self prompting rig that allows the speaker to prompt themselves using a hand held speed controller. For more hire info on this please give us a ring or drop us an email!

Here's to a busy Summer ahead!

February 2015

The most romantic month of the year!

It's also the shortest month of the year but we've managed to pack in quite a bit!

Award ceremonies at The Bellfry, The Dorchester and the Grosvenor House. Congratulations to all the winners!

We've been to the ICC for a conference as well as our usual haunts in Gresham Street and on Victoria Embankment.

Bookings for March are coming in thick and fast, watch this space for our next update!

January 2015

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL!

A normally quiet January has proved anything but this year, with an unheard of 16 shoots in the first month of the year! No more holidays planned for January in the future!

We've been at all the best hotels - Celtic Manor Resort in Newport, The Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane and The Vale Hotel & Spa Resort. We've also been at locations in Shipley, Bristol, Birmingham, Swindon, Manchester, Uxbridge, Elstree and Andover as well as Central London! And it's only January!

2015 is shaping up to be a bumper year!

December 2014

It's the festive season and a month full of christmas shoots!

We did 3 BBC National Orchestra of Wales christmas concerts which really set the festive season off to a good start. We were at the Grosvenor for the final awards ceremony of the year and at Venue Cymru in Llandudno for a night of musical fun.

Corporate videos didn't dry up this month, with visits to our usual suspects.

We also helped out BBC West News with a story or two.

A busy end to the year and here's hoping for a busy start to the next!

CHRISTMAS HOURS - We will be closed for business on the 24th, 25th, 26th and 31st of December, and January 1st and 2nd.

Merry Christmas from all at Cuebox.

NOVEMBER 2014

We begin as ever with the awards! And there were quite a few this month again - so congratulations to all the winners at the Music Video Awards, Amnesty International Awards, the Glass Awards, the Animal Hero Awards, the Investment Company of the Year Awards, the Chamber Awards, the Times Higher Education Awards, IFSEC Awards, Elektra Awards, and the Personnel Today Awards.

Aswell as all that we managed to fit in several Science of Stupid shoots, a few Jackpot Joys, one or two christmas specials and some charity in the form of Children in Need. Along with our usual corporate banking regulars.

December looks set to be equally as busy as we all gear up for christmas!

OCTOBER 2014

As always congratulations to this months batch of award winners! We had the Insurance Fraud awards, Print Week awards, Plastics Industry awards and the BIFM awards. Last but most definately not least we also did the Welsh Baftas this month. Congratulations to all the winners at the glitzy ceremony that was held at Cardiffs Millennium Centre.

The BBC National Orchestra of Wales kept us busy this month, with a family night and a Spooktacular concert - one held at the Brangwyn Hall in Swansea and the other at the St Davids Hall in Cardiff. To make it a fourth event in Wales this month, we helped out Plaid Cymru with their event in Llangollen.

Keeping on the Welsh theme, at the beginning of the month we attended the Swansea Business Show, a full day of networking and attracting new (hopefully Wales based) business.

Other events saw us on a four day pharmaceutical roadshow, a 2 day press junket for a top secret film of the sci fi kind, and as ever we helped out at several different shoots for well known global banking companies!

We hope you all had a good month and a happy Halloween!!

SEPTEMBER 2014

Back to school this month and back to normal traffic madness as we roam up and down the country!

Another mixture of shoots this month!

Congratulations first of all to all the winners and finalists at the British Hairdressing Business Awards at the Lancaster London, and also at the AA Hospitality Awards at the Grosvenor House Hotel. A special congratulations to local Welsh winners the "Bunch of Grapes" for Best Welsh Pub!

The Scottish referendum of course kept us rather busy this month, with live broadcasts from the Welsh Assembly, Wales Today news programme and also our kit was in use up in Scotland itself for their coverage of the event.

As well those two Welsh based shoots, we had another 2 Welsh jobs to cover, one in Bridgend and another one in Cardiff - business is slowly booming in Wales!

We spent a very emotional 3 days at the Imperial War museum shooting a week long programme as part of the BBC's commemoration of the First World War, and an evening at Swansea's Singleton park for the Last night of the Proms as well as a jam packed day in a Dentists surgery shooting for a toothpaste commercial!

Eclectic to say the least!

October sees the award season well and truly hotting up so good luck to all the nominees at all of the upcoming awards!

AUGUST 2014

Traditionally a quieter month, August this year proved a little different! Despite the award ceremonies coming to an end until September, we were still kept busy by shoot upon shoot of the corporate variety!

Amongst others, we worked with Unilever, Coca Cola, Monmouthshire Building Society, Lloyds Bank and Deutsche Bank. We did an advertisement for "Park" voucher scheme and also another episode of Natural Curiosities with David Attenborough.

We also had a trip up to Llanelli for an Eisteddfod concert! That's two shoots in Wales this month! Not bad but must try harder! Come on Wales, you know you need us!

JULY 2014

It may have been the end of the school year and start of the Summer holidays but July didn't wind down for us!

12 award ceremonies was just the tip of the iceberg! So first things first, congratulations to all the winners of the International Spirit Challenge, International Wine Challenge, the Patient Safety awards, Construction News awards, HR Excellence awards, Etail awards, Btec awards, Mortgage awards, Shropshire Business awards, Motor Transport awards, TES School awards and the GIMA awards! Phew!

Moving on, we did another batch of Jackpot Joy commercials, a concert at Venue Cymru in Llandudno and one or two corporate shoots with the usual suspects in Gresham street, Victoria Embankment and Uxbridge.

We attended and supported a charity coffee morning this month, organised by one of our own - our bookings administrator Emma! Eating cake and drinking tea in aid of the cancer charity Myeloma UK, the morning raised £375 for the charity - well done to all involved in that.

And last but by no means least, a few of our clients would have met Sam Isaacs this month, a new recruit to our freelancer list. Sam shadowed on several of our shoots in July and will be an official part of the team from September the 1st onwards - we look forward to welcoming you onboard Sam!

JUNE 2014

Summer began this month, long hot days full of long hot jobs!

Firstly, congratulations to all the winners of this months award shows - the THELMAS at the Grosvenor House Hotel and the Legal and General awards at the Guildhall in London.

This month we've also done several shoots with some big familiar names - Unilever, Citibank and Diageo to name but a few. We've also worked with Sir Richard Attenborough again on his new series of Natural Curiosities, as well as a sneaky shoot on the Dr Who set for something to be revealed shortly!

We helped out on a commercial for British Seniors and spent 2 days at a rather swish hotel in Oxford for the Trend event/conference.

We also had a go at being filmed ourselves this month! Having won a free promotional video by the guys at Buffoon Film and Media at the Welsh Business Show earlier this year, we had a days filming at their offices in Port Talbot - results to be on the website soon!

July is shaping up to be a very busy month so look out for our next update!

MAY 2014

Another jam packed month full of eclectic shoots!

Only the 2 award ceremonies this month - the Sports Industry Awards where held at Battersea Evolution and the AA Awards were at the Celtic Manor in Newport, congratulations to all winners and finalists in both ceremonies.

We travelled up to Scotland for the BBC Young Musician of the Year, to Cardiff for a BBC NOW concert, Manchester for a Sky charity shoot and London for various different jobs. A real countrywide month!

Highlight of the month was of course Tom Cruise! And the press junket for his new film "The Edge of Tomorrow", followed closely by the press junket for "Orange is the new Black". A little bit of celebrity always helps to pass the time!

We launched a few different projects this month, the Cuebox website and it's social networking sites got a bit of a Welsh re-vamp as we started to translate our information to the Welsh language - we truly are bilingual now! This will contune into June as there's quite a lot to translate!

We also launched our new "Before&After" workshops - we have teamed up with coach and mentor Gwenno Dafydd to offer workshops of up to 2 hours that work on your public speaking and presentation skills. More info can be found under our Services tab.

Operation "Build the business in Wales" continued this month as we attended a number of networking events from which we hope to have found a few new clients!

June is looking equally as busy so no rest for us!

APRIL 2014

Along with the Easter bunny, April brought some more interesting jobs our way.

Starting with congratulating all the winners of this months awards - the Newspaper Awards and the Opticians Awards at the Hilton Park Lane, the Opera Awards at the Grosvenor Park Lane and the HAE awards at the Savoy.

We have been helping out ITV Westcountry on the news this month - down in Dawlish where they were covering the re-opening of the railtracks, we've also been down in Kent providing our services for a Party Political Broadcast!

An exciting day spent at the NEC Birmingham for an Iveco Customer Lunch, which also saw the unveiling of a new Iveco van! A first for us!

We spent the day with the lovely Aled Haydn Jones at Wembley arena where he was presenting the "How to Get Hired Live" seminar day for graduates, very inspiring even though we already have a job!

Lastly but by no means least we spent 2 days with a client rehearsing for their award show in May at the Celtic Manor Resort, Newport - more to come on that event in next months update!

March 2014

March madness! A very varied and jam packed month, some old some new but all of it interesting! Let's start as always with the awards shows - congratulations to all the winners at the BBK Awards at the Birmingham Metropole, the Target Jobs awards at the Grosvenor, the Caring Homes dinner and awards at the Marriott Grosvenor Square and the Global Radio awards at the Brighton Grand.

A special congratulations and job well done to all the ladies (and gentleman!) who took part in the Breast Cancer Care charity dinner and catwalk show at Cardiffs Millennium Centre - a fantastic night presented by Amanda Mealing. Breast cancer survivors strutted their stuff down a glitzy catwalk watched by a star studded audience. Thousands of pounds raised in the charity auction, all going towards a great cause.

A fair few conferences this month as well - the Wesleyan conference over 2 days at the Birmingham ICC, a Plaid Cymru and Welsh Labour Party conference as well as a UKIP Party Political (we don't take sides here at Cuebox!) We also covered a 3 day conference in Copenhagen - a bit of International business relations!

January 2014

Well what a month! A normally quiet January, this year was a jam packed month full of corporate delights! We were in Avonmouth, Leeds, Chatham, Warwick, Preston, Soho, Clapham, Stretford and Huddersfield to name but a few!

In particular we were very proud to help out the BBC on a tribute to Roger Lloyd Pack down in Fowey, Cornwall, and equally proud to help out OSP Healthcare on a webcast for SENSE - the deaf/blind charity. Bringing the AV industry and the deaf/blind charity together to see how one can help the other. An extremely interesting and worthwile cause.

Just the one award show this month - the RAD awards 2014, held at the Grosvenor House Hotel and hosted by the fabulous Alan Carr. Congratulations to all the winners and nominees.

A fantastic start to 2014, let's see what the rest of the year has instore for us!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

A very happy new year to all our clients from everyone at Cuebox!

December

As usual, December was a melting pot of shoots and events. Mostly corporate shoots as award ceremonies have come to an end for the moment, but also a graduation ceremony (a first for us at Cuebox) and the annual christmas concerts with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales - what could be better for the festive period! A great month to end a great year at Cuebox - here's hoping for more of the same in 2014! Happy Christmas everybody!

The spookiest month of the year saw nothing too scary going on at Cuebox HQ, but plenty of variety as always!

Never too far away from an award ceremony, we helped out at the Printweek Awards and the BIFM Awards at the Grosvenor House Hotel Park Lane, the Scottish Widow Awards at the Corinthia and the Worlds 50 Best Bar awards at One Mayfair - this one we particularly enjoyed! Operation "Build the Business in Wales" is well and truly underway and going full steam ahead - let's hope it continues.

We launched our new logo this month thanks to Hoodoo Designs - a new fresh, crisp and modern look that puts a new owners personal stamp on things! We also welcomed on board a new recruit to the admin team - you may hear the delightful tones of Emma Jones answering your calls from now on. Emma is joining us on a part time basis to help out with bookings and queries - a warm Cuebox welcome to you!

We have been regulars on the Victoria Embankment again this month, as well as our usual haunts at Gresham Street, Uxbridge and Euston Road. A fortnight long shoot in Milton Keynes for a well known DIY store and a 3 day shoot in Central Studios, Bristol for one of the high streets best known building societies.

It's none stop here at Cuebox Ltd!

AUGUST

Summer holiday month! What started off as a typically quiet August turned into an extremely busy end of the month dash!

The Bristol office celebrated it's birthday on August 10th swiftly followed by one of our top operators celebrating her birthday. Happy Birthday Ros Simons - hope you enjoyed yourself!

As always, a melting pot of jobs including corporate shoots for several of the countrys biggest banks, as well as a quick trip to Brussels for one of the worlds leading fizzy drinks companies!

A pleasant open air concert in Clumber Park with Russell Watson was a perfect August shoot, making the most of the sunshine! Whilst an unusal fashion shoot saw our kit being used not for prompting but for playing footage of nostalgic catwalk shows while at the same time as wathcing it, Tim Blanks recalled his days in the fashion industry straight down the lens of the camera.

To end the month, we helped out with filming footage for a new App for a very popular British crime drama due to be out soon. Filmed at the Upper Boat studios in Treforest, South Wales, it was only  a stones throw away from our cardiff office - let's hope that happens more often!

Next month - the start of the award season! Busy, busy, busy!!

JUNE

Flaming June got off to a flaming good start this year with a host of new bookings.

Cuebox were proud to be part of the Cardiff Singer of the World 2013. Seven days at the St Davids Hall in Cardiff saw Jamie Barton from the USA emerge as the triumphant winner of both the Song Prize and the overall Singer of the World! Many congratulations to Jamie. It was lovely to meet and work with the wonderful Petroc Trelawny, who took us through the week without fault. Thanks for the chocolates Petroc!

The Cardiff Singer event also gave opportunity to welcome on board a new operator - Ann Morgan Edwards, who I hope had a pleasant start to Cuebox life! Working with Connie Fisher and Tim Rhys Evans is not a bad first job! Welcome to Cuebox Ann.

We are also pleased to be working with new clients Space City and ABF Pictures this month on a number of different projects both in London and Manchester.

Once again award ceremonies galore - Health Investor Awards, Shropshire Business Awards and the THELMAS amongst others. Congratulations to all the nominees and winners.

We had a few more awards ceremonies to attend including the AA Awards, The Sports Industry Awards and The Pension Awards. Congratulations to all the winners and nominees.

We've been out and about with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales helping out with their Family Night concerts in Cardiff and Pembrokeshire. Nothing like a bit of classical relaxation!

We've had fun with Chesney Hawkes and a man dressed as a chimp on a shoot in Manchester. As well as a 3 week shoot in Manchester on a brand new sitcom which is still top secret! Keep an eye out for more news on that very shortly.

There's been a bit of politics, some dieting and some Arabic to keep us entertained this month as well. Never a dull moment.

Looking forward to next months Cardiff Singer of the World! Watch this space for more news and pictures.

APRIL

Our conference kits have been red hot in use this month with awards and conferences galore!

First up, Cuebox were proud to be part of the inaugural International Opera Awards held at the Hilton Park Lane. Presented by Nicolas Owen and entertained by world class opera singers, the evening was a glittering success. Well done to all the nominees and congratulations to the winners. We look forward to next year's awards wherever in the world they may be held!

The Hilton also played host to the Newspaper Awards this month - comedians Stephen Mangam and Josh Widdecombe entertained the guests with some witty banter before winners were announced.

A trip to the Savoy for the Hire Awards was a refreshing change - a location we haven't seen in a while but one of our favourites! Congratulations to all the nominees and winners.

The Welsh office has been anything but quiet - the APIL conference was held at The Celtic Manor Resort in Newport. A grand location and always a pleasure to have to spend some time there! On the very same day, we were also at The Royal Mint in Llantrisant.

We've been busy in several different London locations with some of our regular clients - Canary Wharf, Park Royal, Euston Station, Waterloo, Park Lane, Victoria Embankment and not forgetting Uxbridge!

MARCH

Our technicians have been all over the Country this month including the ICC in Birmingham, The Globe Centre in Accrington, Shell Technology Centre in Cheshire, The Dairy Studios in Badbury, Flash Studios in North London and various corporate location in Central London. A mixed bag of work days as always at Cuebox, never the same day twice!

The TARGETjobsAwards 2013 took place at the Grosvenor House Hotel this week. Much fun was had with Rob Brydon singing along with a live band, and Louis Spence performing his favourite routines! Well done to all the winners.

The Grosvenor House also played host to the Marketing Excellence Awards in early March, with Hugh Dennis taking his turn at the lectern. Congratulations to all the winners on the night.

Well done also go to the winners of the Asian Business Awards at the Westminster Park Plaza. A glittering affair as always in a beautiful setting.

We've been suited and booted a few times this month as corporate shoots took us to Canary Wharf and it's residence many times. We're a smart bunch here at Cuebox!
